July 17th, 2013 Rhode Island Historic Tax Credits Reinstated The Rhode Island General Assembly passed and signed into law on July 3, 2013, the reopening of the historic tax credit program. With a new name and new rules, the program will provide for approximately $34.5 million of tax credits that were abandoned after the closing of the tax credit program in 2008. The maximum number of credits available for any one project is $5 million. The Division of Taxation is planning to issue an emergency regulation on July 24, 2013 which will provide applicants and others with guidance on the program.
