David C. Whitney Earns Two Designations

Sansiveri is pleased to announce that David C. Whitney, CPA, has earned both his CVA (Certified Valuation Analyst) designation and the ABV designation as an individual Accredited in Business Valuations.

Whitney_LO“Earning these advanced designations is not an easy task and it takes up a lot of personal time.  David has shown his commitment to the public accounting profession and to his own personal development by going out an earning both of these special designations which will help him better serve the firm’s clients. We are proud of his dual accomplishments,” said Michael A. DeCataldo, CPA/PFS, CFP®, Managing Partner at Sansiveri.

The ABV credential is exclusively granted by the AICPA (American Institute of CPAs) to qualified CPAs. Candidates must meet minimum qualification requirements, which are based on successfully passing the ABV Examination and meeting minimum valuation-related business experience and education requirements.

The National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA) trains and certifies Certified Valuation Analysts (CVA) to perform business valuations as a service to both the consulting community and the users of their services. CVAs demonstrate they are qualified to provide professionally executed valuation services based on thorough training and rigorous testing.  Specific training is recommended as a prerequisite to being certified, to assure that practitioners have the knowledge necessary to perform competent services, and to assure a level of consistency in their work product.

David C. Whitney, CPA/ABV, CVA, is a supervisor in the audit & accounting practice group. In addition to his business valuation work, he has over five years of experience providing audit and consulting services to a variety of clients in various industries, including manufacturing, distribution, not-for-profit, and professional services.
