Support a More Competitive Tax Climate in RI

The Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce recently sent out a request for local businesses to contact their State Senators to voice their support for a more competitive tax climate in Rhode Island. A key part of the Chamber’s 2015 Legislative Agenda is the elimination of the state’s $500 minimum corporate/business tax for the first three years of an entity’s existence to promote an entrepreneurial culture in Rhode Island (bill S113).

The General Assembly’s Senate Finance Committee will hold a hearing this Thursday, March 5 at 3:00 p.m. at the State House on all the pending Senate corporate minimum tax bills, including bill S113. If you are a Chamber member, you can contact your State Senator through the “act now” link below to support the end of this tax. If you are not a Chamber member, but want to lend your support; reach out to your State Senator(s) to urge those serving on the Senate Finance Committee to support bill S113, to eliminate the state’s $500 minimum corporate/business tax for the first three years of an entity’s existence.

By working together to promote private sector growth, we can make Rhode Island more competitive and welcoming to new businesses and entrepreneurs.
