CAS Account Manager Non-Profit

Sansiveri, Kimball & Co., LLP, a leading regional public accounting and business consulting firm located in Providence, RI, offering remote work options and flexible work schedules, seeks a qualified individual for the following opening in our Client Accounting Services (CAS) Group.

 

Provides a combination of both controller and general accounting services to a variety of clients from different industries with a focus on not-for-profit.

Clientele include:

  • Small to medium sized businesses
  • Industries include a concentration in not-for-profit, and may also include clients in the construction, manufacturing, professional services, and retail industries

Controller services

  • Responsible for oversight, account management and accuracy of financial records
  • Oversee, produce, and present financial statements and results
  • Develop and maintain insightful analytical reports
  • Drive the implementation of best practices and efficiencies.
  • Timely responsiveness to client inquiries
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with client personnel
  • Proactively work with CPA for tax planning and preparation support

General Accounting

  • Posting transactions to the general ledger system
  • Monthly bank reconciliations
  • Month-end and year-end close
  • Budget to actual and other analyses
  • Reconciling third-party service provider reports to the general ledger
  • Cash disbursements process including processing payments for approved invoices
  • Accounts receivable function including issuing invoices and applying cash receipts
  • Processing payroll utilizing client’s third-party processor

Team Oriented

  • Maintain strong communication with others with the CAS Team
  • Support other members of the CAS Team and Sansiveri
  • Support Tax Department by providing tax preparation work for mutual CAS and other clients
  • Perform various other duties to support the continued growth and success of the CAS Team

Competencies / Skillset

Required

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in performing CAS related work OR 4 – 5 years of public accounting / industry accounting experience
  • Not-for-profit industry and/or education required with an emphasis on a strong understanding of recording and managing donor contributions, grants, and cost-reimbursement contracts.Our services include consulting/directing our clients as to the rules and regulations related to common activities of a not-for-profit. This position will serve as the initial point-point person for management and, in most cases, serve as the project lead for management in identifying and adhering to the unique requirements of a not-for-profit organization.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines in a timely fashion
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Proficient in QuickBooks Online
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Ability to learn and utilize various software, as necessary

Preferred

  • Proficient in QuickBooks Desktop
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting

  • Tuition Assistance – We offer tuition assistance to employees who are obtaining the credits needed to meet the 150 hours required for CPA certification or working towards an MST. Our professionals may also receive assistance in obtaining a certification/designation in a specialized area after their completion of the CPA exam.

  • Direct Deposit – Employees may elect to use direct deposit for their semi-monthly paychecks.

  • Group Life Insurance – Sansiveri provides life insurance to employees at no cost. This coverage begins the first day of the month following their date of hire.

  • Group Long Term Disability Insurance – Sansiveri provides long term disability insurance to employees who work at least 20 hours per week at no cost. This coverage begins the first of the month following four months of employment.

  • Paid Time Off (PTO) – Full-time employees are eligible for PTO, which begins accruing on a monthly basis on the first day of employment.

  • Holidays – Full-time employees enjoy 11 paid holidays a year, which are announced by partners at the beginning of each new calendar year.

  • CPA Exam Policy – Our professionals receive paid time-off to take the CPA exam. In addition, employees are eligible for assistance towards the purchase of review packages for the CPA exam, paid study time (as workload permits), and at the completion of the CPA exam.

  • Client Lead Program – Sansiveri will pay a bonus to employees for expected recurring services, which have resulted from a newly cultivated referral source. Under this program, an employee will receive 10% of amounts billed and collected for the first year services and 5% for the second year services where they have provided a lead for acquiring a new client for the firm.

  • Aflac – Employees have the option of purchasing from a selection of individually owned policies that are designed to help employees manage the out-of-pocket expenses associated with medical care.
